RICE-ing it (still)
Day 7 of RICE after tweaking my left ankle on a wall-run. Anyone else tweaked the top tendon that connects the ankle to the foot? That’s what I jacked up so I’m perfectly good for almost anything OTHER than parkour - haha. It’s killing me! I want my PK fix. :(

Hyperextended my knee
so I’ll probably lay low for a few days…or I’ll buy a brace and do parkour anyway. Anyone wanna bet which? ;)

Post-Midterm Parkour!
Bumped into some other traceurs today after my microbio midterm! Joined in for about an hour. Worth the ankle pain from doing it in the wrong shoes!

Because of parkour, I can no longer look at a park...
I still feel that way - been at it for over a month now and vaulting a bench never gets old. stayupparkour: Stay Up.

Saguaro Park in Glendale
A great location to work on your moves. Lots of concrete benches and tables, a huge outdoor eating area with tables close enough that you can leap around, concrete tables perfect for practicing cat-dash, and a route through a pond-bed and over a bridge that is a blast. It’s all concrete for the most part, so bring your pain tolerance for when you bail.

Friday is Parkour Day!
Well, every day would be parkour day if I had my way. That said, it’s Friday and damnit if I’m not done with this resting crap! I’ve recovered to just about 80-85% of optimal and I’ll be enjoying an hour or two of flight after I finish up with classes.

And on the 7th day...
…the noob traceur rested. I’m 5 of 7 for the first 7 days doing Parkour and my body is wrecked (in a good way). No permanent damage, I’m seeing a satisfying amount of progress in a short amount of time, and I’ll be damned if this isn’t the most fun I’ve ever had with a hobby/sport. I’m taking today off after a double session last night and then we’ll...

brochachose asked: You reblogged my photo, reckon you could share this around? It's my video showing the progression I've made with parkour over the last year or so. Cheers :) www youtube com/watch?v=ClRYHa9-HPg

And I already wanna do some parkour. Waiting for the shuttle to ASU’s main campus and I keep looking around, thinking of different ways to traverse obstacles haha.

Day One: This might need a warning label...
No kidding, I think parkour might be addictive. It could be (and probably is) the mostly newbie rush but there’s this other stuff that got pumped into my bloodstream. Oh yeah, adrenaline! Who would have thought jumping off of a chair, landing, rolling, cat-crawling forward, then leaping up could be such a rush. Sure, if anyone was watching me in my backyard they might have thought I was a...

Introduction to Parkour and the noob traceur
I remember being aware of parkour and freerunning at least five or six years ago. I’ve seen videos and always thought it was kind of a super-athlete sport so I never paid much attention beyond what was required to ooh and aah when I saw the occasional cool video of some guy backflipping off a wall, dropping a floor, and then sprinting across an I-beam. Then I looked it up on a whim when I...
